Women's Program Center / Al-Hussein Camp

 The Women's Programs Center was established on the initiative of the International Relief Agency in 1987 AD, which is located on 25 Al-Alawi Street. To empower Palestinian women and enhance their self-confidence and self-reliance in order to improve their status in their local community and increase their participation in decision-making .

The women's program is supervised by a group of women from the local community working under the name of the Local Voluntary Committee, which is the only local committee that operates through the Women's Center and its umbrella is the International Relief Agency represented by the Relief Program

The local committee currently consists of seven members, and its organizational structure is as follows:
  • Committee chairwoman
  • vice president
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Members are Among Their Most Important Responsibilities:
  • Developing and drawing up the general policy for programs
  • Developing the estimated annual budget and plan
  • Building a network of relationships with local community institutions and international organizations

The women's program includes several activities and services to achieve the general objective of the center, including:

  • Kindergarten
  • Sewing production unit
  • Vocational training program (computer, straw, fitness, beauty department)

The local committee supervises the activities and programs of the center and networking with other institutions in the areas of awareness and education in the following areas:

  • Health
  • Legal
  • Social
  • Economic
  • Qualifying

In addition to the training activities applied in the center mainly on educating women on human rights through CEDAW and gender  

In addition to the Adolescents Project, which is based on empowering adolescents with basic life skills and reproductive health, towards better communication and youth participation in society, how to do community initiatives and train peers on these topics. Among the project is to educate parents and adolescents about children’s rights and international agreements in this field and how to protect from abuse and gender-based violence
